Out in the public, 'in the field' interactions
Vox pop, social experiements, etc
This project was a huge shoot, for LIFE's Common Ground themed Easter service, designed to show that in a divisive time, we have more in common than we think. With 7 cameras and 7 operators, a large cast and one chance to get it right.
Crew: Abe Raffills, Matt Gerand, Josh Allen, Jamin Greenwood, Sam Thomas, Russel Ng, Rhiannon Palmer, Sarah Douglas, and myself.
We wanted to create something to play at a LIFE Volunteer event, to showcase the variety of teams and locations and thank everyone for all that they do. So I crafted up this concept and rig, and travelled across LIFE's 5 Auckland campuses to record shoutouts from the people they serve.

Capturing and editing this was one of the best reminders that real people make the best stories, even little ones.
You can't really plan the laughs, the faces, the unexpected answers, so this Mother's Day video was all about creating a fun space where kids could shout out their mums in their own words.
We wanted to do something different to promote the upcoming Mens Gathering at LIFE, especially the fun and banter that makes it unique. So I hit the streets with a camera, mic, and TC's improv skills to poll every day people.
Editing comedy has always been a rare treat that I love. So I always have a great time working on these kinds of edit.
